SMILE and Using Money Wisely, Inc. dba SMILE Payee Services (SMILE), created in 1998, operates as a national 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, nonprofit community based organization.
Since 2008, SMILE successfully Providing Representative Payee, Money Management, and Bill Payment Services for people receiving Social Security or other government benefits, work wages, or may have need for an Alternative Payee.
In 2014, SMILE expanded Payee Services into Maryland, DC, and Virginia
SMILE works with the case manager and client for current needs, past bills, and Wednesday Weekly Allotments to help their money last 30 days.
SMILE is a private nonprofit, fee-for-service organization authorized by Social Security to collect a fee each month we serve as the Payee.
The current monthly fee is $42.00, or 10% of the monthly benefit of the client, whichever is less, and may be adjusted yearly, based upon Social Security guidelines.
